SoCalG iPhone Webclip

Sooo...I was browsing the forum as I usually do on my iPhone and I decided since I'm always in it, I might as well save the page on my home screen...however I noticed...there was no webclip when I did so! Only an ugly screen shot as the button!

I was wondering if you guys could do a webclip for the site...it's pretty easy to do! You can even Google the instructions! LOL! Is this something that you guys would be willing to do, or you guys are more like "eeeh! not important!" and pass on it?

lol i just keep, Driver, socalg open all the time ont he internet since you can have more than 1 page open at a time!

Made some changes to the coding. If it doesn't work, I'll have to use the old method of uploading the file into the root.

Oh ok...No more doubled posted Bumps for me then! LOL!

and no...the webclip still didn't work. I saved it to home screen and it just saved the screen shot of the site...I even waited a little cause you have to do that sometimes!

Well, I'm at our cabin in Big Bear right now and I'm doing my thing with a 5 meg. connection :D . Fred isn't as hardcore as I am I guess (just wait until he sees this) :D :rofl: .

Ummm...any update...I guess I'm the only guy asking for this and if it's too difficult to do maybe I should just forget about it...I just know a few of the members do access the site through the iPhone and a nice little icon would be cool! :)

We're researching new ways to do this.

Apparently, one method didn't work so we're going to look into other alternatives.

Now that I have moved 200+ websites this week to my new server, I am ready to tackle the WebClip george has been pestering me about for weeks.
Back in December I followed the directions on the website I got, and added an icon here: http://socalg.com/apple.png and added the text into the index.html file.. but it doesn't seem like it's working.
So if you have some other instructions I can follow I can give it another try.

Fred, if you got one George pestering you then I got ten 'George's' pestering me at any given moment :rofl: .

Rename it to apple-touch-icon.png and throw it in the root folder of the website. (Not the root of our server, the root of our web documents).
